E is for Ellis Bextor, F is for Forlani, G is for Garner

Three more from my A-Z of female celebrities.

Sophie Ellis Bextor; Claire Forlani; Jennifer Garner

Galactus

My painting style is about a million miles away from Jack Kirby, but I thought it'd be fun to try painting the Devourer of Worlds, based on his first appearance (when he still had the goofy "G" on his outfit).

Pulp Heroes

A selection of action heroes, originally featured in the pulp magazines of the 30s.

The Shadow; Doc Savage; Tarzan; Conan:

...and a mock Doc Savage cover:

Kiss Me

A quick actual size painting. I wanted to do something that had the feel of a magazine illustration by the likes of Coby Whitmore or Joe Bowler.

D is for Dawson

The fourth in my A-Z of female celebrities is Rosario Dawson. I'm not particularly happy with the likeness.

Tribute for Ringo

Mike Wieringo, comicbook artist and good guy, 1963 - 2007. He'll be much missed.

Is there a Doctor in the House?

Some recent portraits of the 10 actors who have played the different incarnations of Doctor Who on television since 1963.

In order of appearance: William Hartnell; Patrick Troughton; Jon Pertwee; Tom Baker; Peter Davison; Colin Baker; Sylvester McCoy; Paul McGann; Christopher Eccleston; David Tennant.

Indiana Jones

A portrait of Harrison Ford as everyone's favourite archeologist, done in a faux Drew Struzan style.

The Duke

A portrait of John Wayne, in various stages of completion:

Anakin

A quick painting of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker as he appears in Star Wars Episode 3

C is for Cates

The third in my alphabet of female celebrities, 80s star Phoebe Cates

Eva Green X 3

Done for a Jam on the Drawing Board.

The first two are based on reference from the Ridley Scott movie "KIngdom of Heaven"

The third and last one I did came out the best, I think.

Chelsea

I happened to catch a bit of an episode of the reality TV show "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll" and found myself enamoured by one of the contestants, Chelsea Korka.

Finding decent reference was hard, so I'm not entirely happy with the likeness.

B is for Beart

The second in my A-Z of female celebrities, the french actress Emanuelle Beart.

Green Goblin

Spider-man's arch nemesis. Started of as a black and white sketch, then I decided to add some colour.

Sandman

A quick sketch of the Spider-man villian. It started of based on a photo reference of Thomas Haden Church's portrayal of the character in the latest movie, but I ditched that idea and ended up with something halfway between that and the comicbook version

A is for Apple

A portrait of singer/songwriter Fiona Apple - the first in an alphabetical series

The Creeper

Rough sketch and finished piece of the DC Comics' character The Creeper

Miriam in Red and Black

Former Playboy model Miriam Gonzales

Gina Torres

An oldish portrait of "Firefly" and "Serenity" star Gina Torres - the original pencil sketch, and the finished painting

Vixen

A recent commission of Erica Gavin - Vixen from the Russ Meyer movie of the same name:

Irene

A portrait of Irene Bedard, the Native American actress most famous as the voice of Pocahontas in the Disney movie:

Hellboys

After his imaginary sister, some images of the big red guy himself.
