A recent Jam on the Drawing Board posed the question "What if Hellboy had a sister?" - basically a female equivalent of the big red guy.

I did two quick sketches to get some ideas down:

One picture, two versions

A quick painting (shown actual size) based loosely on a photo of Charlize Theron, but it doesn't look like her.

The yellow/green/blue version was done first, then I played around a bit and got the second, colder, version.

Liv, a little

A challenge from a work colleague - she named a celebrity, and I had to paint them within the course of a work afternoon.

She chose Liv Tyler, and I did this in two and a half hours.

Miss Luana

This is from a period when I still drew everything on paper first, before scanning and painting over - these days I do it all digitally from beginning to end.

...'til the fat lady sings. This is a couple of years old but I still like it. First is the original blue pencil rough sketch; followed by the finished painting.

I don't really know anything about opera other than what I've learned from Chuck Jones' cartoons.
