Anakin

A quick painting of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker as he appears in Star Wars Episode 3

C is for Cates

The third in my alphabet of female celebrities, 80s star Phoebe Cates

Eva Green X 3

Done for a Jam on the Drawing Board.

The first two are based on reference from the Ridley Scott movie "KIngdom of Heaven"

The third and last one I did came out the best, I think.

Chelsea

I happened to catch a bit of an episode of the reality TV show "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll" and found myself enamoured by one of the contestants, Chelsea Korka.

Finding decent reference was hard, so I'm not entirely happy with the likeness.

B is for Beart

The second in my A-Z of female celebrities, the french actress Emanuelle Beart.

Green Goblin

Spider-man's arch nemesis. Started of as a black and white sketch, then I decided to add some colour.

Sandman

A quick sketch of the Spider-man villian. It started of based on a photo reference of Thomas Haden Church's portrayal of the character in the latest movie, but I ditched that idea and ended up with something halfway between that and the comicbook version

A is for Apple

A portrait of singer/songwriter Fiona Apple - the first in an alphabetical series

The Creeper

Rough sketch and finished piece of the DC Comics' character The Creeper

Miriam in Red and Black

Former Playboy model Miriam Gonzales

Gina Torres

An oldish portrait of "Firefly" and "Serenity" star Gina Torres - the original pencil sketch, and the finished painting

Vixen

A recent commission of Erica Gavin - Vixen from the Russ Meyer movie of the same name:

Irene

A portrait of Irene Bedard, the Native American actress most famous as the voice of Pocahontas in the Disney movie:

Hellboys

After his imaginary sister, some images of the big red guy himself.

Hellgirl

A recent Jam on the Drawing Board posed the question "What if Hellboy had a sister?" - basically a female equivalent of the big red guy.

I did two quick sketches to get some ideas down:

and then produced a more finished piece:

Movie heroes

A coloured pencil sketch of Daniel Day Lewis in "Last of the Mohicans"; and quick digital sketches of Arnie as "Conan the Barbarian" and Sting as Feyd Rautha in David Lynch's "Dune" movie.

WW3

A couple of Wonder Woman drawings by me...

... and one by comics superstar Mike Wieringo, which he kindly let me colour.

World's Finest

A sunny, happy Superman and a gloomy, lurking Batman (Gotham by Gaslight version)

And two of the actors who portrayed them on screen, Christopher Reeve and Michael Keaton

Out with the old, in with the nude...

Some old pencil sketches of various ladies in a state of (tasteful) undress

Is this testing whether I'm a replicant or a lesbian, Mr. Deckard?

A portrait of Sean Young as Rachael in Ridley Scott's classic movie "Blade Runner"

And an image showing the progression of the lighting and atmospheric effects

A Christmas Wish

The image I did for my Christmas Cards this year. My attempt to do something a little bit in the style of Dave McKean...

...and a step by step showing the process...

One picture, two versions

A quick painting (shown actual size) based loosely on a photo of Charlize Theron, but it doesn't look like her.

The yellow/green/blue version was done first, then I played around a bit and got the second, colder, version.

Liv, a little

A challenge from a work colleague - she named a celebrity, and I had to paint them within the course of a work afternoon.

She chose Liv Tyler, and I did this in two and a half hours.

The Joker

Some random images of the Clown Prince of Crime, in order of creation:
