70 years ago this month, in June 1938, Action Comics issue 1 was published, featuring the debut appearance of the first and best superhero character - Superman.

Here are portraits of the first two actors to portray the Man of Steel in live action, Kirk Alyn and George Reeves, and the actress who played Lois Lane opposite both of them, Noel Neill:
