Sorrow

Another collaboration for the back cover to Sorrow issue 2 from Image Comics.

The original sketch was by series' artist Francesco Francavilla, and I then turned it into a painting.

Come Sin With Me

A collaboration between myself and artist Daryl Walker. Daryl wanted me to turn an ink drawing of his into a fauz Pulp/Crime Novel cover.

Original inks; Colours; Final with "aging"

Wolverine redux

A reworked version of the Wolverine picture I did about a year or so ago, which I tightened up for inclusion in Imagine FX magazine.

H is for Hayek, I is for Imbruglia, J is for Johansson

The next three from my A-Z of female celebrities.

Salma Hayek; Natalie Imbruglia; Scarlett Johansson

300

Some paintings (of variable time spent and quality) inspired by Frank Miller's 300 graphic novel, and the movie based on same:

Ephialetes; King Leonidas and some Spartans; a random Spartan warrior; a painting based on an actual statue of Leonidas; more Spartans; one of the Immortals; Gerard Butler as Leonidas in the movie; Leonidas' final defiant moments

The one I spent the most time on, however, was a portrait of Lena Heady as Queen Gorgo (some steps are shown):

Sketches

Just some random old sketches

J. Jonah Jameson; Deadman; Loki

E is for Ellis Bextor, F is for Forlani, G is for Garner

Three more from my A-Z of female celebrities.

Sophie Ellis Bextor; Claire Forlani; Jennifer Garner

Galactus

My painting style is about a million miles away from Jack Kirby, but I thought it'd be fun to try painting the Devourer of Worlds, based on his first appearance (when he still had the goofy "G" on his outfit).

Pulp Heroes

A selection of action heroes, originally featured in the pulp magazines of the 30s.

The Shadow; Doc Savage; Tarzan; Conan:

...and a mock Doc Savage cover:

Kiss Me

A quick actual size painting. I wanted to do something that had the feel of a magazine illustration by the likes of Coby Whitmore or Joe Bowler.

D is for Dawson

The fourth in my A-Z of female celebrities is Rosario Dawson. I'm not particularly happy with the likeness.

Tribute for Ringo

Mike Wieringo, comicbook artist and good guy, 1963 - 2007. He'll be much missed.

Is there a Doctor in the House?

Some recent portraits of the 10 actors who have played the different incarnations of Doctor Who on television since 1963.

In order of appearance: William Hartnell; Patrick Troughton; Jon Pertwee; Tom Baker; Peter Davison; Colin Baker; Sylvester McCoy; Paul McGann; Christopher Eccleston; David Tennant.

Indiana Jones

A portrait of Harrison Ford as everyone's favourite archeologist, done in a faux Drew Struzan style.

The Duke

A portrait of John Wayne, in various stages of completion:
